David Pryde began referring to himself in the third person in 1997, shortly after earning a journalism degree in Halifax. During an in-depth investigative piece on post-grad unemployment David discovered stand-up, which he found refreshingly different from journalism in every way save the microphone and filtered point of view. My “ Amour Fou” with stand up has gotten me ran out of Seattle, LA, and the whole country of Canada. Kicked off of a USO Tour. Fired, Booed, told by a Cruise Director that I was “Horrible.. Not funny in anyway or shape.” If comedy was a woman and rejected me that much. Only Hell and My Space would have room for the stalker I’d become. My soul wants to have an impact on humanity. My mind and body have chosen stand up as its vehicle. |
